A little bit about the museums in Zürich

It's time to return back to my new home town Zürich. I've visited couple of museums here and I thought it's nice to write a little bit about them.

Museum Rietberg
Museum Rietberg has a fantastic collection of masks from all over the world. You can see there masks from different African, Asian and European countries. They really are worth seeing. If you like porcelain then you will find a nice collection there as well.

As you can see from a photo above the museum is located in beautiful park. During our visit there was a temporary exhibition (which is still going on) about the gardens of the world. It was really interesting and gave an overview how the garden culture has developed - starting from Paradise, Ancient Egypt, Babylon, then China, Japan and Ottoman empire and then different European garden types.

Nice thing about this museum is that all the information is also in English.

Museum Bellerive
Museum Bellerive is also at a very nice location - right next to the lake. It has changing exhibitions, mainly modern art. The exhibition that I saw has already ended but it was about surrealism in photography.

Museum Bellerive
Right next to the Museum Bellerive is Le Corbusier House. If you are interested in architecture then go and have a visit.

Le Corbusier House
The house was designed from the beginning to be a show piece. There are photos and books about Le Corbusier's work on display inside the house as well.
